Dolphins e-Gaming – Newcastle United is aiming to fill the squad with young players. One of them is the Mexican striker, Santiago Muñoz. He signed a deal for an 18 months loan and left Liga MX side, Santos Laguna, with the buy option.

Muñoz was actually born in the United States. Yet, he played for the youth Mexico national teams.  The professional debut of this 19-year-old striker was at Santos Laguna for Liga MX in October 2020. His agreement with Newcastle United is a sign of his readiness in showing his talent to the world.

Playing in the Premier League has been the real dream of young soccer players. It seems that Muñoz is one of them. The 2021/22 season will become his way to reach further success. It was reported that this teen plans to travel to England for undergoing a medical examination, after signing the deal of an 18-month loan.

The Magpies can own a choice in making a permanent move for this teen, prior to the end of the loan deal. Of course, it applies when Muñoz meets the requirements that this club demands.

It is possible that Muñoz will play with the youth team first. Once he obtains experience in the young team league, then he can have the chance in making his debut in the Premier League.

For Santos at Liga MX, Muñoz has performed in 13 matches. He made three goals and contributed three assists.  He was also one of the Mexico national team members who won the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying tournament. He himself stated that playing in England has been his real dream since he was a kid.

This young player gets the inspiration in reaching his dream after watching GOALS!, a movie that tells a story about a young Mexican boy, Santiago Munez, who doesn’t give up when he gets an offer for playing at a giant soccer club from England.  Does it sound like a coincidence?  From several interviews, Muñoz kept saying that his dream of playing in Newcastle United will make him a great player that will make his parents and country proud.

Missing Out Windows’ Transfer

It could be that Newcastle United doesn’t have any interest in signing more players this season. Or is it missing any chance? With the end of the transfer window, this club is only signing one player for the main team this season. It is the signing of Joe Willock from Arsenal that will become a great boost for the overall club’s performance.

However, many people predict that Steve Bruce isn’t really satisfied. The head coach of the Magpies has been somewhat frustrated as he was hoping to bring more new players to the club.  The club failed to sign Hamza Choudhury from Leicester.

It means Newcastle won’t replace the position of Andy Carroll. Then, strikers in this club might only be the same names as the previous season. They are Dwight Gayle, Joelinton, and Callum Wilson.

Newcastle United is in 17th place after three matches with 8 points. The team won once, lost four times, and drew twice.
